International Nurses Day – Today 12th May!
With the theme proposed by the International Council of Nurses (ICN) for this nurse international day — “Our Nurses. Our Future. Caring for Nurses Strengthens Health Systems” — nurses around the world are reminded of their essential role in every healthcare system.
Today, as PNAE, we celebrate all the nurses caring for newborns, children, young people, and their families across Europe. Their role is crucial not only for the health outcomes of those who represent our collective future, but also for the sustainability and resilience of healthcare systems.
In line with the ICN, this day is a time to pause and recognise the compassion, professionalism, and resilience demonstrated by our nursing teams every single day.
A great challenge lies ahead: improving the health and well-being of nurses themselves. Caring for nurses means caring for the people they serve every day, across diverse settings.
