On 20th of May 2021, there was the third PNAE meeting on-line!
Many nurses across Europe participated on behalf of their national Pediatric nurses Associations. We shared a new update about the impact of Covid-19 on children and young people across Europe.
The PNAE members reported that both in the countries where the incidence of covid disease among children was lower or higher, the children still bear the heaviest consequences of the pandemic. This is the result of school closures, reduced contact with friends and networks, increased incidence of domestic violence / abuse, absence or reduction in the rights of children with extensive and complex care needs. Moreover in some countries, the pediatric health personnel have been reassigned to other wards, etc. All countries agree that the consequences of the pandemic will be great for children and young people, and will challenge all countries in how they should be able to meet the needs of these children.
Further, we maintained the connection among paediatric nursing associations of Europe nevertheless the Covid-19 world Pandemic.
The PNAE members approved the final draft of “PNAE Term of References” and of PNAE Position Statement “Protection and Safeguarding“.
The report of the 37th meeting is now available on the New PNAE website LINK
