We are delighted to share that the 5th PNAE Congress on Paediatric Nursing took place on May 21-22, 2021! Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was for the first time in our history, that it was held virtually on the platform, Worksup. The organisers were the University of Tartu, Tartu University Hospital, Tartu Health Care College and Estonian Nurses Union, technically supported by Publicon Thank you to the organisers and support.
The mayor of Tortu, Urmas Klaas, opened the conference, expressing pride and joy at being able to welcome pediatric nurses from 22 different countries. Approximately 200 delegates had attended.
Moreover Professor Jane Coad from the University of Nottingham. UK and our PNAE Co-ordinator welcomed all delegates and members of the PNAE. We have had many challenging days in the last 20 months but she described the road map of Paediatric nursing across Europe in the next years.
A La Roche-Posay special lottery prize was given to Tenna Gladbo Salmonsen and Hanne Aagaard in Denmark and presentation title was: “To become a family in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit – parents’ experiences of staying together with their infant in a family room in the Neonatal Intensive care Unit”.
Participants chose the e-poster of “Simulation as a learning strategy for nursing students” (Zangary, C. et al., students in Tor Vergata University of Rome at Bambino Gesù Children’s Hospital, IRCCS) to be the best of the Congress (the poster is available on this link).
As the Congress was held virtually, it was possible for all participants to review all presentations, workshops and e-posters until the end of September. Non-participants had the option to purchase access from PNAE.
PNAE Deputy Co-ordinator, Immacolata Dall’Oglio, announced Next PNAE Congress on Paediatric Nursing will take place 2023 in Italy.
